I really like it when I’m able to get a picture of a real (not posed) smile. These expressions of joy always seem to be contagious, and they make me feel as though I come away more happy after I view them.

This gentleman was reading a paper book, and taking notes on the text with an iPad. I found this to be a captivating mixture of new and old technologies.

This picture shows the way that different people might react when having their pictures taken on the street. The difference in the subjects facial expressions is what I think makes this picture interesting.

The thing I really like about this photo is that it shows something happening, and (I hope) it makes the view start to ask… “What’s going on here?”
I believe if a photographer is able to make a picture that prompts a viewer to ask that question, then the picture get the viewer to start to speculate, and start to create some sort of narrative to accompany the image they’re seeing.
